uConnect uses a system of Credits for sending messages. The amount you need depends on the type, length, and destination country. A standard 160 character text message requires 1 credit for most countries including Ireland, U.K., U.S., Canada, Australia, and New Zealand.

A keyword is a unique command word that people can text to a predefined virtual number or short code in order to join your mobile club, request info, or enter a competition. uConnect automatically adds the mobile number of the incoming text to the group associated with your keyword, as well as their name or e-mail, if supplied.

You can create as many free keywords as you wish on our Virtual Numbers or upgrade your keyword to a more memorable short code as outlined below.

A short code is a memorable 5 digit number against which keywords are rented on a yearly basis. Unlike keywords on our long numbers, each keyword registered against one of our shared short codes is subject to a yearly rental fee, payable prior to inital setup. uConnect currently supports keyword registration against short codes in both Ireland and the United Kingdom.
